Rain, Wind or Shine!! Mojave Transportation Museum Foundation Presents Plane Crazy Saturday!
DECEMBER 15, 2012 10A.M. – 2 P.M.
Kids! Be sure to stop by and see Santa! He will be here at 10:00.
Remembering the Epic Voyager Flight with adventurer pilot, Dick Rutan!
AND a “First Flights” book signing with Jill Rutan Hoffman!
Presentation to be held in Mojave Air & Spaceport Board Room at 11 a.m.
In classic “There I was …” style, the pilot-penned tales in First Flights will take you along as the authors vividly describe their most thrilling aviation firsts. First Flights will transport you to space in the Shuttle for the first-ever docking with the Mir Space Station. You’ll journey around the world in the milestone-setting Voyager aircraft and Breitling Orbiter 3 balloon. You’ll jet to the edge of the atmosphere in the X-15 rocket plane. And you’ll hang on the edge of your seat as you relive test flights of homebuilt airplanes. These true stories, written by the pilots themselves, will have you wondering how they found the courage to accomplish their “first flights,” and are sure to inspire you to pursue your own.
Bring the kids to this Plane Crazy and give them a chance to meet the pilot and hear about this exciting historic aviation event!
Santa Claus will make a visit too!
A variety of vintage warbirds will be on display, including: North American T-28B; Grumman S-2 Tracker; Canadair North American F-86E and other historic aircraft. Everyone is welcome to fly in (weather permitting, of course!)
Plane Crazy Saturday is a free event held the third Saturday of every month at Mojave Air and Spaceport.
Bring the kids to Mojave Airport for breakfast or lunch, restaurant opens at 8 AM. Aircraft and space collectibles and artworks will be available for sale and viewing and a motorized tram will provide tours of the T-hangar area.
